The Emperor’s New Mascot

And now, young Skywalker... you will die.For Christmas, when I picked out my new Star Wars toys, I picked some from the original 1977 movie. For something different, instead of the usual action figures, I picked some from Hasbro’s Galactic Heroes series, which are more like caricatures.

When I leafed through the little brochure that was included with my figures, one other figure caught my eye, Emperor Palpatine. Cool, I’m always calling the car Emperor, this is just the right piece of mojo to add to the Miata.

If anyone wants the cute little Shock Trooper let me know.

Cha… Cha… Changes

Sometimes I post jokes here that could be considered raunchy or of an R-Rated nature (like yesterday’s.) Because my wife, family, friends and possibly some impressionable youths read this blog, those kinds of jokes may not be appropriate for front page viewing. I will still post jokes, even those in questionable taste, but they will not show up on the main page. You will still be able to access them via the jokes link in the category listing. So you will know I’ve added something new, I’ll put a heads up in the daily post somehow.

Also new today is an “Eating Out” category. It will be for keeping track of how many times we dine out. In each post I’m going to tell you where, what and how much. As an added bonus, I’m going to keep a running total of how much we spend., kinda like the Top Transition thing.

Ari’s Grill

The best hamburgers in town and the french fries are right up there too. Donna and I get the “mini” burgers served all the way (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup & mustard) that are 4oz. of hand formed primo beef. We split an order of fries.

Ari’s is always “To Go” because it is, literally, a hole in the wall and there is always some one in there smoking.

Lina Rosio

Lina RosioWhen I was making The Emperor’s New Screensaver #2, I wanted to find out what Lina Rosio meant so I could use it for the title, so I Googled it.

The first 4 hits were places selling the poster where I learned it was by someone named Choppy and I guessed he was French. Tried plugging in Lina Rosio in a translation tool, French to English, with no luck, came back as lina rosio. Hmmm, sounds Spanish. A Spanish to English try netted the same results. Trying Portuguese, I found out Lina means linen, but nothing for Rosio. Lina is a Chinese name that means beautiful woman. I googled for rosio and that lead me to the Urban Dictionary. Lina – Nice beautiful young woman and Rosio – A girl that is funny, cool, sexy, and everything else. She also can be a firecracker if you get in her face to long. Somehow I think this poster predates the UD, maybe it’s definitions have been influenced by this poster? Or by the Chinese? Giving up, I just titled the image Lina Rosio.

Back to Google, my Miata gallery with the image was at #9. At number 5 was a fellow’s Flickr page of the same poster but in a different town in SC. His photo came from Walhalla about 60 miles northwest of Abbeville where mine was taken. Right after my number nine return was the Flickr RSS feed of someone named Genipher who has an image of the same poster and hers was taken in Abbeville too.

Home Depot Scam

A “heads up” for those of you who may be regular Home Depot customers. Over the last month or so I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don’t be naive enough to think it couldn’t happen to you!

Here’s how the scam works:
Two seriously good-looking 20-21 year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look.

When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say “No” and instead ask you for a ride to another Home Depot. You agree and they get in the back seat. On the way, they start having sex with each other. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and performs oral sex on you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I’ve had my wallet stolen December 2nd, 9th, 10th, twice on the 29th, three times just yesterday, and very likely again this upcoming weekend. So be careful.

New Year, Same Old Quality Blogging

Things are looking good for cashing in on the $100 Mill from Wednesday’s Powerball drawing. A couple of weeks ago I paid five dollars and entered the BCS Bowl Pool at work and so far, with three games left I am definitely out of the money. Even if I correctly pick the last three winners I can finish no better than 4th and out of the money.
