The Art on the Wall

Way back in August while visiting Arizona I bought an art print of a bicycle. The first thing I did was to get it framed, I picked it up this morning. That’s it on the left. On the right is a 11 x 17 frame I have and decided to use it to make my own bit of an art print of a bicycle.

The newly framed print has virtually the same width of the mat all around. The 11 x 17 one has a 1 1/2″ wide mat top and bottom, but the left/right combo is 2 1/2″ wide. This looks sort of uneven to my eye. So I did some mock-ups of what it would look like. 1) The mat shape that is stock. 2) 1 1/2″ all around and 3) 2 1/2″ all around.

The stock one doesn’t look as bad as I thought, but I kind of like the 2 1/2″ all around because it closely matches the new acquisition.
