The Oregon Post Office Project started 2288 days ago on Sunday, June 21, 2020, and is all finished at 388 post offices.
I created the database way back over six years ago by using the USPS’s “Find USPS Locations” feature on their webpage. I’d pick a spot in the state to start and select a spot and then filter for a 50-mile radius, then copy the text in the left column. Then I’d strip out the unwanted stuff and end up with just the names and addresses. Then I’d move my circle search over 30 miles each time until the state was completely covered. Everything was pasted into a spreadsheet and sorted to remove the duplicates.
The total started at 392, but four times I showed up at a post office that was closed, then checked the “Find USPS Locations” feature again to confirm that it was decommissioned. There are a couple of caveats, though. If the USPS has added some new post offices since then, they were not included, or if some were decommissioned, they are included, if that happened after I photographed them.

- Princeton – The USPS calls this Princeton, but Google Maps insists it is called New Princeton. I checked Wikipedia, and it too says this is New Princeton. I didn’t see any of the 141 to 326 people to ask what they call it. (9/25/26)
