Never Wax Inside

Used the California Duster on the car this afternoon and discovered several more reminders on why I shouldn’t wax the car in the garage. Wiped that dried wax off a few places, but later this evening, in the fading sunshine, I noticed there are still a few more spots. Sigh…

Rode the bikes to work today, so if it wasn’t for the monthly meeting of the Aiken Bicycle Club, the Miata would not have gotten driven today. Is there something wrong with that picture? Bicycle to work and drive to a bicycling function?

Damn Yankees III

They are in the playoffs while the Red Sox are all at home doing what I’m doing, watching the playoffs on Fox and rooting for Anaheim. And I’m sure just like our regular season hopes, our post season wishes will be squashed by the boys in pinstripes.

Copy Protected CDs?

A friend asked me to make a copy of a borrowed CD. I took it home, ripped it into waves and then burned a copy with CD Text. I took it in to work to give him, but before I did I thought I’d listen to it. Good thing I did as it was silent. Tried it in another PC and when I still got silence, I tried in the car – nothing. Windows explorer read it as 20 cda tracks, the PC CD player showed 20 tracks and it “played it like normal, just no sound. Whe I got back home I checked the wave files and while they looked in explorer like normal files, when opened in a wave editor, they were 2 straight lines. Tried ripping 1 track again to check and got the same results, Ripped to an MP3 with the same results. So I figured what the heck, let’s try the copy CD option -that worked. What the…?

And You Call Yourselves Australian

Finally got around to repairing my 3rd brake light. On the last Master’s Miata Club run, the person following me told me it was dead. As it was twice before it was the wire breaking right near the trunk hinge. Next time it dies it might just stay dead.

Made it to Outback for my birthday “lunch” this evening. Did you know they don’t serve kangaroo steaks? I ain’t never going back there.

I Hate Fall!

Not really, but I do dislike one aspect of it. Like Sunday is the day before Monday, autumn is the season before winter and I really hate winter.

Enetation IV

If it seems that this blog is slow to load, it is the fault of Enetation Must be a server shortfall again. It seems as if their web site is MIA. Another one bites the dust.

One a good British note is Scaryduck, not that he needs any plug from me as he was just voted best British Blog or something and has got a note right there at the top of the Blogger home page. One look and “the blog that was nearly on the telly” will be right up there on your must read list, it is on mine.

The Sopranos Marathon

Backed the Miata out of the garage to make it easier to clean some shelves in the garage. I put the top up to keep out the leaves and any other tree debris that might fall in the cockpit. Damn, now that I said that word it reminded me that I should have used the cockpit cover….

Didn’t watch any of my birthday movies yet. We are right in the middle a “The Sopranos” marathon. We don’t get HBO, so we rent the DVDs when they come out. Season 3 was recently released and I timed my Netflix rentals so that I could get all four discs at around the same time. Thursday, 1& 2 arrived and today the other two were in the mailbox. We watched 1 episode on Thursday and 3 more on Friday. Today was 5 more episodes and we will probably watch the last 4 tomorrow.
