I think bicycle riding is a very enjoyable way to get exercise as long as you do not have to worry about traffic. Bike paths are fairly safe. I used to enjoy riding with the bike club early on Sunday mornings before I got my present job...I work every morning picking up milk from the farms. Since I must ride by myself, I can not enjoy it with traffic. I was hit by a car when I was nine and while I do not remember the accident, I do remember the after affects of trying to get home, eating supper and not remembering that I ate it. I rode many miles after that but now at age 61, I no longer have the courage to ride on the road even if I wear outrageous colors. There are too many bad drivers out there and too few concerned witnesses.

LILBURN, Ga. —

Georgia's groundhog, Gen. Beauregard Lee, waddled out of his "Weathering Heights" mansion and failed to see his shadow on the red dirt beneath him.

The development bodes well for warm weather: No shadow means an early spring, hundreds of spectators were told as the prediction was made around 7:30 a.m. Thursday near Lilburn.

The groundhog emerged to make the prediction moments after a crowd cheered, "Go Beau, Go Beau, Go Beau!"

Beau's caretakers at the Yellow River Game Ranch in Lilburn say he has a 94 percent accuracy rating, giving him a better record than Punxsutawney Phil, his famous Pennsylvania counterpart.

The ranch says that every year on Feb. 2, the Georgia groundhog wakes up to the ringing of an antique bell outside his mansion to forecast the spring weather.

I always like the southern predictor's prediction better. Me too--top down--different car.
