Sturgeon’s Law

Ninety per­cent of every­thing is crap.

Derived from a quote by sci­ence fic­tion author Theodore Stur­geon, who once said, “Sure, 90% of sci­ence fic­tion is crud. That’s because 90% of every­thing is crud.” Oddly, when Sturgeon’s Law is cited, the final word is almost invari­ably changed to ‘crap’.

    There’s a sim­i­lar memo­r­ial in NC on I-85 north of Sal­is­bury. Inter­est­ing thing to me was that I-85 criss crosses so that the north bound lanes are on the left side and the south bound lanes are on the right side (fac­ing north). The criss-cross hap­pens at a point where you don’t real­ize it, I had to go to Google maps to really believe it.

    The NC memo­r­ial can be vis­ited from the rest area on the south bound or north bound side.

    This is a nice lit­tle park and we have ear­marked it for a return visit.We get get sun­rise views from the condo, but here you are sup­posed to get a great sun­set view.

    Took me a while to find that wrong way inter­state bit. It is at Mile Marker 100 and I bet I have dri­ven that stretch of I-85 and not real­ized what was going on…
