9480 Hours

I changed the light bulb in the soffit near the front door yesterday. Why is this noteworthy you ask? It had been in there burning for 395 days or 9,480 straight hours.

The reason I know this is because I made fun of the light bulb’s claim that it would last 2,000 hours when my mother-in-law bought them and said so right here: 1,988 Hours To Go

The one at the end of the driveway was put in a month sooner and it is still going strong after over 10,000 hours.

I like my crow like I like my chicken, shaped into strips and deep fried: Crow Fingers.

Started down, went up, back down, still down.

  1. They are called Sunbeam Mighty Bulbs and I’m betting this is where she got them – Walter Drake (one of those catalogs that you can only get by being on a lot of mailing lists and get 20 catalogs a month.) http://tinyurl.com/r37fw

Hey wait a minute! I just got the box out to get that information and for the first time I paid attention to it and it says “20,000 Hours.” I always thought it said 2,000 hours. So instead of being proud of that bulb, I should feel cheated as it only lasted half as long as advertised.

  2. I saw Humble Pie play with J. Geils and Frampton’s Camel in ’72. I would like to say I really enjoyed the concert, but current age and then intoxication level have left nothing behind but a blank spot on the eight track tape that I was using as memory storage back then. 😀
