I’m Done For Now

I have unsubscribed from the mailing lists of the three photography memes I have participated in regularly for about the last two years. At first they were exciting, they gave me something to do with the digital camera. But recently they have become tiring for me, how many times can you shoot “Yellow”? Yeah, I know, there are about a thousand ways to picture yellow, but only if you are really into photography.

For me it was always something I toyed with, never real serious. I took a bunch of photography courses in college and I’ve read a bunch of books on the subject too, so I know how to take a good photograph, but I don’t spend the time doing it to actually get them. I usually end up with a bunch of snapshots and from what I’ve seen on the web, there are too many snapshots out there already.

When I first got into blogging I stumbled onto CD Swaps and I did that for awhile, but I stopped. Then I did the photography thing, but that is over now. What is the next thing I’ll get “into”? Suggestions welcome.

Started down, still down.

  1. Even my participation in the weekly photo memes has dropped way off. I check them each week and if I have something already I may post it, or link back to it, but that’s about it.

    😉

  2. Everything does get boring after awhile. I just bought a new digital camera not to long ago, so I’m still enjoying using it whenever I can. And with the CD Swaps it got annoying when the people in your groups didn’t participate.

  3. I’m sure I’ll get back in the photography things, maybe just one a week though, I’m just in a bit of a mental slump.

The CD swapping is probably over forever because of the MP3 capable changer, too easy to rip internet radio and not have to worry about handling a disc every 40 minutes. Plus the straw that broke that back for me was the same as for Andrea. One of the organizers decided to ensure everyone sent out a CD was to mail one to her. Then she was always late mailing out hers…

  4. You could restore an old NA Miata. Then after you buy the new one, you will have one of each.

I will installed the turbo on it if you pay for it. If it works out ok, then I will get a turbo too.
